Encouraging Youth

We are a volunteer support group for the DeMary Memorial Library and for the community. We are involved in many activities such as donated book sales, events encouraging our youth and adults to be involved in the library and reaching out to serve the community when possible. We are also an invaluable factor in getting good reading material in the hands of people at an affordable price. The Friends of the DeMary Memorial Library is a non-profit volunteer group organized in April 2002. The Friends recruit volunteers and raise funds for services and improvements that the library budget does not provide.

We believe libraries are a great source of information for people of all ages. Using the library should be a pleasurable experience and we want to encourage the community to take advantage of the library by creating additional reading programs, improving the appearance and sponsoring continued growth.
